What happens when I book accommodation here?

When you complete a booking, you will be sent an e-mail confirming the details of your booking. Depending on arrangements with our accommodation suppliers, bookings made online are either immediately confirmed or on request.

Confirmed Booking
Reservations made for these properties are immediately confirmed when you book online. Properties that offer confirmed bookings are marked by the green check symbol in the property features, and are described as such in the Policies and Disclaimers section of the property info. When you make a booking for one of these properties you will be automatically transferred to the PayPal website to complete payment.

On Request
Reservations made for these properties are on request and subject to confirmation. Properties that offer on request bookings are marked by the orange query symbol in the property features, and are described as such in the Policies and Disclaimers section of the property info. When you make a booking for one of these properties you will be sent a confirmation e-mail and a PayPal request for payment within 24 hours of your initial booking.
 

Who am I dealing with?

Bookings for accommodation that are made on this web site are administered on behalf of the property owner by maCreteland Tours, from their office in Makrigialos. As well as providing tourist services such as ticket sales and car rental through maCreteland, the owner - Nikoleta Christakis-Sarris - also operates the Re/Max estate agency. maCreteland's own web site can be found at www.realestateincrete.com (and for those who are truly seduced by the charms of south east Crete, the Re/Max estate agency web site can be found at www.remax-professionals-crete.gr).

How do I pay?

We accept payment by credit card, via PayPal, and we ask for the full amount to be paid. Please contact us if you prefer to pay by bank transfer, or wish to secure your booking with a deposit and pay the balance later.

Am I paying extra to book online?

No. We require our accommodation suppliers to offer the same prices here is they advertise everywhere else. If you find the same accommodation being advertised for the same dates at a cheaper price then please do let us know.

Is it secure?

We take your online security very seriously. We do not ourselves ask for your card details, and do not store them on our system. Instead, when we ask you to make a payment we pass you over to PayPal. PayPal has the experience and expertise to handle your payment efficiently and securely. Learn more about PayPal's protection for buyers.

What about privacy?

We also take your online privacy very seriously. There is no need for us to collect personal information when you book online here, so we don't. We ask only for the information necessary to provide this service to you - your name and your contact details - and no more. Well, OK, we like to know which country you're from as well. We're going to use that to help us identify how we might improve services for our visitors, and to see which languages we need to translate this website into. Specifically we don't ask for your address details, though you will be required by Greek law to register these with the accommodation owner on arrival. Got a problem with the system?

It's a computer system, and we all know they don't always behave. Please don't take it out on your own computer - it's almost certainly our system that's at fault. If you're having a problem making a booking, try refreshing your browser (F5). It usually does the trick for us, but if that doesn't help, please do let us know about it.

I want to change my booking

Need to change your booking? No problem, just let us know (don't forget to mention your booking number), and we'll do our best to (ahem) accommodate your changes. Need to cancel your booking? Again, no problem, just let us know, but please do check the cancellation policy.
