Makrigialos Accommodation

Makrigialos accommodation consists mostly of beach-front, family-run, self-catering studios and apartments. In the main these can accommodate couples or small families, with at most a single bedroom and a sofa-bed in a living area. Two-bedroom apartments, such as can be found at the Olympia Apartments, are relatively rare, and properties with a pool even harder to find (though with the Mediterranean never too far away, what need does one have for a pool?).

Larger families or groups can find suitable accommodation in one of the houses or villas in the area, for example the White Houses in the harbour, or the Aeolus group of villas or the Ville du Soleil houses out at Lagada. At the top end of town Grapevines is a recently-built, small complex of 2-bedroom townhouses built around a pool. Just outside of town, a short walk from Lagada beach, is the brand new Bay View Resort complex of modern studios, apartments, penthouses, bungalows, and townhouses, built around two separate swimming pools. Part of the project, but located on the ridge above, is a handful of 4- and 5-bedroom luxury villas, each with their own private pool.

Slightly further afield, Aspros Potamos - at the foot of the Pefki gorge just inland from Makrigialos - is a group of renovated cottages unique in having no mains electricity, with only the bare essentials such as lights running on solar power. In neighbouring Koutsouras one can find a couple of independent hotels, and the small bays along the south east coast, such as those at Achlia and Agia Fotia, also offer accommodation.
