With a north African influenced climate, Makrigialos enjoys better than average weather, with long, hot, rain-free summers and short, mild winters. As measured by the South East Crete Holidays weather station, high summer temperatures average 30°C (86°F), and can peak into the 40's (104°F+) during the day. Rain is possible from mid-September to mid-May, but warm sunny days in deep mid-winter can still reach over 24°C (75°F).
