Day trip by car, taking in the sights of south-eastern Crete.

• Visit the Venetian ruins at Voila and Etia, and the Minoan ruins at Kato Zakros
• Enjoy the turqoise waters at Zero Kampos, or wander the deserted streets of the semi-abandoned village of Karidi
• Walk the Gorge of the Deads near Zakros
• Go horse riding from Zakros
• Take the road east from Makrigialos towards Sitia. Just before reaching Papagiannades, take a sharp right onto the road to Ziros

The main loop starts and ends at Handras, and takes in the settlements of Ziros, Zero Kampos, Zakros, and Karidi. For Kato Zakros, follow the signs from Zakros.
